BART police are asking riders to think hard if they saw or heard what happened to a 45-year-old man who was found bleeding from his head in the stairwell at the Civic Center BART station on Friday.

According to Detective Wendy Sanchez, the man is in stable condition today, but she would not say whether he is able to talk or if investigators have interviewed him. All she could tell us was that police were called to the station after an agent pointed out the unconscious man in the stairwell at about 12:30 p.m. near the exit at Seventh and Market streets.  Riders had also pointed out the injured man, but nobody stayed around to talk to investigators.

"I have no idea  [what happened to him]," Sanchez told us. "I checked with medical staff, and even they can't say whether he fell or got hit by something."

Sanchez said they are looking for anyone who might have witnessed anything "unusual" involving the man, who has been described as a white, 6-foot male with brown hair and hazel eyes. He was wearing a red shirt, blue jeans, and white shoes.

BART PD wants to know what caused this man's injury and is asking anyone who was in the area who saw what happened to please call the BART PD Investigation's Section at (510) 464-7040, the confidential hotline at (510) 464-7011, or e-mail Det. Wendy Sanchez at

"Hopefully, people will come forward," Sanchez said.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
