A San Francisco judge has sentenced Brian Simoneschi, a former soldier and convicted sex offender, to seven years in prison after he admitted to moving to California to have sex with an underage girl he met online.

Simoneschi was a convicted sex offender when he met the girl, but he had neglected to register as a sex offender when he moved from the East Coast to California. According to U.S. Attorney Melinda Haag, Simoneschi says that in 2008, he met the girl -- who was younger than 16 -- online while he was stationed as an army sergeant at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

After communicating with her online for about a month, which included some sessions with a webcam, Simoneschi -- who was 26 at the time -- journeyed to California where he said he had sex with her 11 times.

Prosecutors say Simoneschi started communicating with the victim one month after he was convicted of exposing himself at a little league field in Southern California.

On Oct. 14, 2011, Simoneschi pleaded guilty to one count of committing a crime of violence while failing to register as a sex offender. In addition to prison time, Simoneschi  has been ordered to pay a $6,000 restitution.

The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
