Update: At about 1:20 p.m., the bomb squad recovered two oxygen cylinders from the suspicious package, said McCarron. The boarding area has been reopened. No report if Delta passengers missed their flights during the evacuation.

Hundreds of airline passengers were evacuated from an SFO boarding area this morning after airport security reported a suspicious package.

At about 11:17 a.m., Delta passengers loading in Boarding Area C of Terminal 1 were evacuated. SFO employees alerted San Francisco police, who called in the bomb squad to inspect the questionable package, said SFO spokesperson Michael McCarron.

As of 1 p.m., police were still screening the package, McCarron said.
