San Francisco police say they have tracked down the man who they believe stabbed and killed 30-year-old Joseph Minozzi in SOMA last month.

Police arrested 42-year-old Charles Robertson in Sacramento on Feb. 22 on suspicion of murdering Minozzi. Robertson, a Fairfield resident, was booked into Sacramento County Jail and transferred to San Francisco, where he is awaiting trial, police said.

On Jan. 12, police found Minozzi with stab wounds at the corner of Sixth and Stevenson streets at about 2:40 a.m. He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital where he later died.

Minozzi's death was the city's first homicide of 2012.

Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Inspectors Daniel Dedet or Robert Velarde of the Homicide Detail at 553-1145. Members of the public can also use the Anonymous Tip Line at 575-4444, or Text a Tip to TIP411.
