A 30-year-old man was shot and killed last night as he stood outside in the Bayview District, police said.
According to the SFPD, the victim, who has been identified as Derek Hall, was on the unit block of Osceola Lane at about 9:11 p.m. when two men approached him and shot Hall multiple times in the chest and the arm, before running off.
When police arrived, Hall was pronounced dead.
Police had no more details about the shooting, and the only thing they could tell us about the suspects is that they were black men.
Last night's killing marks the city's sixth homicide this year. Last week, 59-year-old Rodney Pool was charged with murdering Rebekah Wilson, 37, at the Winsor Hotel on Sixth Street. Wilson's body was found inside the hotel on Feb. 2, but medical authorities did not rule her death a homicide until Feb. 8.
