Christopher Dutel, SoCal Man, Accused of Sexually Assaulting Tourist Near Fisherman's Wharf

(Update, 2 p.m.): Sgt. Daryl Fong said 18-year-old Christopher Dutel, a Southern California man, was arrested and booked into San Francisco County Jail on multiple charges of sexual assault and false imprisonment. Police would not yet release the man's photo.

(Original story, 8:50 a.m.): Police are reporting that a young girl who was visiting Fisherman's Wharf with a group of tourists was assaulted early this morning.

According to police, the girl, who is reportedly a juvenile from a foreign country, became separated from her group at about 2 a.m. Police later searched the area and found the girl at about 4 a.m. with the suspect on 400 block of North Point Street. The man was attacking her in some bushes, according to media outlets. He was taken into custody on suspicion of assaulting her.

The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries; however, police didn't have specifics on what happened to her.
