Local Idiots Fire Rifle from Roof in SOMA, Two Arrested

Posted By on Fri, Jan 6, 2012 at 8:20 AM

Police spent several hours last night surrounding a SOMA building where some trigger-happy people were foolishly firing rounds from a rooftop.

According to new reports, a throng of officers, including the SWAT team, arrived at the 400 bock of Ninth Street shortly after 11 p.m., where they heard multiple gunshots fired.

Officers ducked behind a patrol car -- and stayed crouched there with their weapons drawn.

Unlike the suspected cat burglar, who clung to a cliff for more than 24 hours waiting for police to leave, the cops weren't going to let these guys wait them out. They set up a perimeter and by 1:15 a.m., two men came down from the building where police quickly arrested them on suspicion of illegally discharging a firearm.

Thankfully, nobody was hurt.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
