Last week, we warned readers about a man who viciously raped and robbed two women as they walked through the Mission District in the early morning hours. The attacks -- which police have described as "very violent" -- have naturally riled up the neighborhood, enough so that residents are planning to meet with police tonight to discuss the incidents.

As the Chron reports this morning, the Fair Oaks Community Coalition is hosting a meeting at 7 tonight at St. James Catholic Church at Guerrero and 23rd streets, where police will give updates on the investigation and discuss safety plans in the area.

They will also talk about ways in which residents can help the two victims.

Police issued a warning last week after a woman walking along 24th Street early Thursday morning was attacked from behind. The suspect pulled her to a corner near Fair Oaks where he raped her and robbed her.

In late November, another woman was attacked while walking on 24th Street. The man dragged

her to another location near 24th and South Van Ness where she was

strangled, punched, and slapped before she was sexually assaulted.

Police believe it was the same man in both attacks. In both cases, the suspect was described as a black man in his mid-30s,

between 5-foot-9 and 6 feet tall, with a medium build. He was last seen

wearing a black hoodie and dark pants.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call the anonymous tip line

at 575-4444, or "Text-a-Tip" from their cell phones to TIP411. Please

include "SFPD' in the beginning of the text message.

Be careful out there!

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
