Amid the winds howling around the Bay Area, San Francisco firefighters struggled to put out an apartment blaze early this morning, which left two with critical burns.

The fire started at about 4:30 a.m. on the top floor of a three-story apartment building near Mission and 24th streets. The complex houses 35 people, but only two were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to San Francisco police.

"Windy conditions made it a very hard fire to fight," Fire Chief Joanne Hayes-White told reporters at the scene this morning.

Firefighters do not know what sparked the blaze, which was finally extinguished at about 6 a.m.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
