The shadowy online "hacktivist" group known for encouraging the Occupy Wall Street Movement has published the personal contact information of Lt. John Pike, the UC Davis cop who was allegedly recorded pepper-spraying a group of unarmed UC Davis protesters last week.
A video that claims to be the work of Anonymous was posted on YouTube, along with Pike's phone number, address, and e-mail. True to form, the group maintained its shady presence as it delivered an eerie warning to Pike in an artificial voice, calling him a coward and a bully, and claiming he violated California law when he pepper-sprayed protesters during a peaceful demonstration on Friday.
According to the video:
"Everyone can see these were unarmed, nonviolent protesters who were all in a sit-in, which basically means you sit down as a group as a form of protest. The use of pepper spray and violence is never accepted, especially when used against nonviolent protesters who are standing up for their rights. We also warn you that if you or the rest of the UCD police continue toThe video came after university officials announced yesterday that UC Davis' police chief, Annette Spicuzza, was suspended after videos of the two UCDPD officers callously dousing sitting students in the face, went viral on the Internet. Both officers -- who have not yet been identified by the university -- were placed on administrative leave.use violence on peaceful protesters, more consequences shall follow. We are Anonymous, we do not forgive, we
do not forget."
