It's hard not to get excited about a new Ben & Jerry's flavor, particularly the creative names, including Cherry Garcia and Half Baked. B&J's newest release is making headlines with its name: Schweddy Balls.
The thought of American youngsters asking mom and dad if they can have a scoop of Schweddy Balls has riled up the gay-hating American Family Association. The group is calling on the ice cream gurus to change the unsavory name, or for a boycott of the tasty treat, which consists of vanilla ice cream and rum-and-fudge-flavored balls.
According to the AFA: "Ben & Jerry's announced their newest ice cream flavor which sounds anything but appealing. Schweddy Balls is the best they could come up with. The vulgar new flavor has turned something as innocent as ice cream into something repulsive."
Perhaps. But there's also strong arguments to be made for trying out the new flavor, like vulgarity and sugar going hand-in-hand. Here are some other reasons we would be willing to snack on Schweddy Balls.
5. We'd rather eat Schweddy Balls than any other balls in San Francisco.
