Was Last Night the End of #OpBART?

Posted By on Tue, Aug 30, 2011 at 9:00 AM

Last night's BART demonstration wasn't so bad, in part because protesters toned it down a notch. In other words, all trains were running on time and no stations were closed. And as long as commuters can get home at a decent hour, then hey, they don't care ... protest until you are on the sidewalk convulsing.

What we saw last night was so tame -- there were only two arrests that we know of -- one has to wonder, is #OpBART losing steam? (See our video interview with an Anonymous protester on the plans to keep things civil last night.)

Here's a quick snapshot of the low-key demonstration from last night.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
