Ben Flajnik for Mayor the Bachelor!

Snitch readers may recall how we endorsed Ben Flajnik of the The Bachelorette fame for San Francisco mayor. Not too long ago, he sent the city rumor mill spinning by writing a Twitter bio that hinted he may be power hungry after getting dumped on national television: "Winemaker, Failed Proposer, and Future Mayor of San Francisco." We knew he was only kidding, but that doesn't mean we didn't dream.

Confirming that he will not be vying for the hearts of his constituents, he's changed his Twitter to read: "hmmm. jury is out for a verdict."

To that, we say: Well played, Flajnik. Now, we are just waiting for the official announcement from ABC that the floppy-haired winemaker from San Francisco is indeed the next Bachelor. All signs so far point to him in the title role, with filming beginning in September.

Perhaps most telling, the Bay Club Marin posted on its site that Flajnik's appearance with his company Evolve Wines was canceled: "Bay Club Marin would like to congratulate Benjamin Flajnik for being chosen as the next Bachelor. Unfortunately, we have been notified that due to contractual obligations, Ben will not be able to attend our event this Friday."

But it was "Reality Steve" (Steve Carbone), infamous in The Bachelor online community for his spoilers and snarky commentary, who first broke the news that a camera crew was spotted filming a solo Flajnik near Coit Tower and on Divisadero Street. Such establishing shots are used at the beginning of each season to cement the next leading man or woman in our minds as someone who is more ready and open to love than ever before, having run the Bachelor/ette gauntlet the previous season.

Topping it off, the Evolve Wines website has been stripped of all its content. "Future home of something quite cool" is all it says now.

And while we may never know how Flajnik could have shaken up this city, we hope he will use his dormant political skills to navigate the treacherous waters of dating 25 women who want him and/or his vino.

Such a shame. Run, Ben, Run had a nice ring to it.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
