Korbel Champagne Cellars captured surveillance of the white truck that police believe killed 63-year-old Donald Casper over the weekend in a hit and run.
Casper, a San Francisco attorney and member of the city's Civil Service Commission, was jogging east on River Road west of in western Sonoma County when he was hit from behind. He died at the scene.
Eyewitnesses said Casper was hit by a white Ford extended cab pickup, which then sped off after the accident. Casper, an avid runner, had been spending the evening with his friends Eugene and Linda Payne. He went for a run around 7 p.m., but when he didn't return
for more than an hour, Linda went out looking for him.
She found skid marks and his body on the side of the road.
Anyone with information about the crash should call CHP Detective Mike Phennicie or Sgt. Robert Mota at (707) 588-1400 or CHP dispatch at (707) 551-4200.
