Mayor Ed Lee joined Regatta officials today to introduce eight of the 13 teams that will compete in the prestigious America's Cup to be held in San Francisco in 2013.

Regatta Director Iain Murray introduced representatives of teams from China, New Zealand, Italy, South Korea, Sweden, and the United States.

But what reporters were more interested in was the unexpected event on Monday when an Oracle racing vessel capsized during a practice run.

It was Oracle Racing CEO Russell Coutts who was aboard the 45-foot catamaran that tipped over into the icy San Francisco waters during the abrupt wipeout.

Coutts said that these kind of incidents come with the territory of racing new vessels. He told reporters that the trick will be to determine when the boats are "on the edge" versus "going over the edge."

"The experience I had in the last few days, sailing in San Francisco's strong wind conditions, I'm starting to realize when that limit is reached," Coutts says.

However, Murray assured everyone that those smaller catamarans were mere "training wheels" for what spectators can expect to see during the regatta. Murray says that the catamarans that will be sailed in the race will be 70-feet long, media outlets report.

"It's what you've seen already, on steroids," Murray told reporters today.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
