Former Lincoln High football star, David Henderson died last night at San Francisco General Hospital after being gunned down nearly two weeks ago in the Bayview.
On May 26, at about 12:05 a.m., someone shot Henderson, 21, several times on the 1400 block of Kirkwood Avenue, SFPD spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

Henderson had reportedly been paralyzed from the neck down and was removed from life support on Monday.

Police have identified no suspects or possible motive.

After leading the Lincoln High School Mustangs to three Turkey Bowl championships, Henderson went on to play at San Francisco City College, the University of West Georgia, and the University of Arkansas. He then became a wide receiver for the Pacifica Islanders, a minor league team in Pacifica.

The Islanders wrote on their Facebook page that Henderson was shot three times, though police would not confirm this. We contacted the San Francisco Coroner's Office, but no medical authorities have responded.

In May, Henderson told the Examiner that he was having trouble coping with the loss of his 19-year-old cousin, Robert O'Bryant, who was killed earlier this year. SF Weekly reported in January that Johnathan Walker, 20, shot O'Bryant inside a Bayview home on the 1600 block of Kirkwood Avenue.

Henderson's mother, Qunzena Henderson, told reporters that she did not think the shootings were related.

The SFPD requests that anyone with more information about the shooting should call (575-4444 or text 411TIP.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
