Larry Lacy's sad distinction as the city's sole murder victim of 2011 didn't last long.

Two more men were murdered in what turned out to be a bloody New Year's weekend. The San Francisco Medical Examiner's office confirmed both deaths, about which details are sketchy, are considered homicides.

In addition to a fatal stabbing on Market Street yesterday afternoon, a man was shot dead yesterday at 9:12 p.m. on the 800 block of Larkin.

Regarding the stabbing, the victim's roommate has purportedly confessed to the killing. There are no further details on the shooting. More information when we have more.

Update, 8:35 a.m.: While the stabbing occurred earlier in the day -- 2:46 p.m. on Sunday -- the victim died later in the hospital than the man shot on Larkin. Police were called to the 1100 block of Market Street when the victim's roommate dialed 911. That roommate is now in custody as the prime suspect.

Regarding the 9:12 p.m. shooting, police say the victim and suspect were involved in an argument in front of a nearby club at O'Farrell and Larkin. When the suspect walked away, he was shot twice in the torso. The suspect fled on foot; he is described as a black man between 20 and 27.

Police encourage calls to the anonymous tip line at (415) 575 4444.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
