Shaun Balleza was cut down at 33 yesterday, killed in an early morning drive-by shooting in the Excelsior.

Balleza was killed and another man wounded when two suspects motored past in a gray, four-door Japanese car. The two victims were standing outside in the 200 Block of Ney at shortly after 1 a.m. on Wednesday.

Balleza is the 40th homicide victim of the year and first since 22-year-old Jelvon Helton was shot dead at Club Gravity on Monday night. Over the weekend, 45-year-old Kathleen "Kate" Horan was discovered dead in her Russian Hill home. Murder is suspected.

The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
