If ever an opponent blasted past former Oakland Raiders offensive lineman Greg Skrepenak a little too easily and flattened the quarterback -- maybe it all makes a bit more sense now.

The former football player was today sentenced to two years in jail and fined $5,000 for a corruption conviction. While serving as a commissioner in Luzerne County, Penn., he accepted a $5,000 bribe in exchange for his vote to approve more than $1 million in loans toward a development project.

The 6-foot-6, 322-pound Michigan alum was one of 30 people swept up in a continuing corruption probe. He had faced a sentence of up to 10 years and a fine of $250,000 -- but he pleaded for leniency, citing his status as a single father and football-related injuries. He also trolled for supportive letters via his Facebook page.

He was selected by the Los Angeles Raiders with the 32nd pick in the 1992 NFL draft. He played for the Raiders until 1995 -- the team's first year back in Oakland -- then suited up for the Carolina Panthers in '96 and '97.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
