A reliable source has informed SF Weekly that, in a moment of bitter irony, two people were shot last night at a vigil mourning shooting victim Stephen Powell. One attendee was hit in the face and another in the leg at a gathering at Third and Quesada, a spot the 19-year-old Powell purportedly used to frequent. Both are expected to survive.

Powell was one of three people shot in the Castro on Pink Saturday; police arrested and charged 20-year-old Ed Perkins with the crime. Perkins himself was a shooting victim last year and police believe he and the former prep basketball star Powell knew one another -- this was not a homophobic attack, despite the fact it sent hundreds of Gay Pride revelers running.

Our calls to the San Francisco Police public information office have not yet been returned. Our sources, meanwhile, note that, predictably, nobody seemed to see anything at last night's 8 p.m. shooting. More as we know more.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
