Greg Pool, 50, was the man who fell -- or was thrown -- from the roof of the Crystal Hotel on Tuesday, the medical examiner's office told SF Weekly this morning.

Witnesses heard Pool tumble through the trees and hit the pavement in front of the hotel at 2766 Mission -- and also saw a suspect fleeing from the hotel's roof, according to police. The death has not yet been ruled a homicide; it is currently categorized as "suspicious."

Bhavik Shah, the Crystal Hotel's manager, confirmed to SF Weekly that Pool was a resident there, and had been referred to the hotel three or four months ago by a city homeless outreach program. "He was a really good man," the manager said. "He had no visitors. He was very quiet."

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
