The district attorney's office this morning filed multiple charges in the curious case of Terry Helbing, an apparently unique lover and collector of art.

The Tenderloin resident -- who is accused of pilfering more than $100,000 worth of art and cramming it into his cramped SRO hotel room -- was charged with one count of burglary, two counts of receiving or being in possession of stolen property and one count of grand theft, all felonies.

All of these charges stem from works of art Helbing allegedly purloined from the San Francisco Botanical Garden library, where he was arrested Tuesday. Garden staff called police when they noticed Helbing in the building; he had purportedly irked staff by attempting  to walk off with artwork before.

Helbing will be arraigned tomorrow morning. He will enter a plea and his bail will be set.

More charges could come later, as the investigation into the cache of artwork discovered at Helbing's Tenderloin flat continues.

The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
