Get Some New Year's Lovin on Craigslist

Posted By on Tue, Dec 29, 2009 at 12:24 PM

[image-6]Besides the obvious Valentine's Day, which holiday is most associated with having a lover at your side? It's coming up Thursday. You know the drill: count down to midnight and kiss your honey while the first melancholy strains of "Auld Lang Syne" bleat out. It doesn't bode well for the new year if you've got no one to kiss you back.

So where better to find a lover between now and midnight Thursday than Craigslist? Let the Snitch assist you in cherry picking some of the better last-minute offers on "Casual Encounters."

  • This first one is straight-forward enough. This lady needs someone to see McCoy Tyner at Yoshi's in Oakland on NYE.

  • This Italian man posted a corny silhouette photo of himself to entice someone who wants to bring in 2010 with a BANG (in the sack, we're guessing).

  • This dude wasn't looking

for a "friend with benefits" for just New Year's Eve, but

he was very specific on another front. You must have herpes. That's right. This man wants to love you in the new year - warts and all.

  • This dashing guy from San Jose appealed to the sheer fear factor of spending New Year's Eve solo: "I don't want to spend new years alone. How about you?"

  • And for the piece de resistance, this man is taking appointments

for "secretary interviews" daily. New Year's Eve included.
[image-5]Sadly, in this economy, if your new year's resolution is to find a job, this may be your best bet.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
