A victim of an apparent robbery was gunned down in the Double Rock projects in Hunters Point in the pre-dawn hours this morning, marking the city's 38th homicide of the year.
The Medical Examiner's office would not release the name of the victim to SF Weekly, citing the need to notify family.
Police have released a broad description of the suspected killer: He is between 20 and 25 years old, roughly 6 feet tall, and weighing between 180 and 200 pounds.
This is the first homicide in San Francisco since a pair of men were slain in a Mission District pizzeria on Sept. 20.
