The Ex lists Clews as being the director of communications for Americans for Limited Government. While ALG purports to be a non-partisan "grass-roots organization," in reality it was founded by real estate tycoon Howard Rich and received the vast majority of its funding from Rich and other super-wealthy donors to push their rightist views. As for Clews, he's a longtime Republican political operative who also worked as a P.R. shill for outfits tied to our covert Nicaraguan smuggling operations during the Iran-Contra affair -- as well as a number of other, shall we say, interesting career moves that don't compare favorably to Albert Schweitzer.

Provided we're not murdered in our beds during this nascent class warfare, Clews' Examiner piece has made us certain of one thing: The day when we pick up the Ex and read an op-ed regarding President Obama's birth certificate is likely not long in coming.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
