SF Weekly Video: St. Stupid's Day Parade

Posted By on Tue, Apr 1, 2008 at 4:13 PM

Today The Snitch followed the good bishop of the First Church of the Last Laugh and his merry band of costumed loons down Market and through the downtown grid, where folks in suits and homeless people alike scowled at the spectacle.

"Get back to work!" the mob yelled at the suits, before launching into a "No more chanting!" chant. One security guard seemed particularly perplexed when the group took a "parade break" and lay down on the ground before one building.

Click the photo to see a slideshow of the day's festivities, and check out a YouTube clip we threw together behind the cut.

P.S. Darn YouTube for ruining the vid quality, but hey, you get what you pay for. . .check back tomorrow for photos from the St. Stupid's Day after party. --Janine Kahn

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
