Mens Health: Bay Area Likes The Drinky Drink

Posted By on Thu, Dec 13, 2007 at 9:00 AM

According to Men's Health magazine three Bay Area cities were boozy enough to grab spots on the Top 50 Drunkest Cities in the Unites States, though sadly none of them were wasted enough to crack the top 20. Oakland got the closest at 72 (out of 100) then Fremont at 69 and finally San Francisco at 67. Check out the nifty interactive map here if you're sober enough to read this.

All kinds of unpleasant numbers were crunched to come up with the list, including annual death rates due to alcoholic liver disease and drunk driving arrests. And it looks like I get the best of both worlds: Denver, my hometown, was named the number one most Dangerously Drunk city in the country! Go Broncos! (via SFist)

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
