Hitting the G-Spot: Google to Announce Mobile Phone Platform

While tech geeks across the globe have come to accept the (probable) truth that there will be no Googlephone hitting stores anytime soon, there is some room for excitement. Rumor has it that Google will be holding an 11 a.m. press conference today to unveil "Android", an open-source suite of mobile phone software. At least thirty industry biggies including T-Mobile, Sprint Nextel, and Qualcomm are said to be on board for the project.
