Oh, Fat Mike. While it comes as no shock whatsoever that the perpetually scandalous NOFX frontman (and Noe Valley resident) isn't exactly calming down as he ages, this video still took us ever-so-slightly by surprise: It's the singer backhanding a fan, then kicking him square in the face onstage last night at a show in Sydney. (Hey, guy recording the whole show on your phone: You're annoying 99 percent of the time, but this time you struck Internet gold.)

To be fair, the middle of "Lineoleum" is not really a moment anyone who was thinking clearly would choose to approach Fat Mike (for a hug? What was your objective here, sir?). Still, slapping said fan to the ground seems like it might get your point across; nearly breaking his jaw with your foot comes off as a little extraneous.

The Bay Brewed: Pairing Local Rock Bands With Local Beers

Posted By on Fri, Dec 6, 2013 at 9:56 AM

The beer headlining the Bay Brewed. - OH BEAUTIFUL BEER

If you like beer and rock music -- and really, who doesn't? -- you should probably cancel your plans for this Saturday, Dec. 7, and check out the Bay Brewed instead. It's a daytime pairing of local rock bands (Mikal Cronin, Shannon and the Clams) with local beer breweries (Anchor, Almanac, Speakeasy, 21st Amendment, Headlands). And the way it works is, once you buy a ticket, you get to drink as much of any of the delicious varieties of beer on offer as you want. Since the cost of one ticket would cover the door charge plus maybe a handful of rounds at a normal show, this makes the Bay Brewed an excellent place to investigate both local bands and local beer.

In the spirit of putting two good things together, we've gone and paired selections from the 25 beers that will be available with a few of the six bands that will be performing on two stages. The result is a slightly contrived beer-and-rock pairing list, or, if you will, a back-pocket guide to how to do the Bay Brewed. Here, then, is your to-do list for tomorrow:

Rock and beer! Rock and beer! Rock and beer!

Our favorite local festival highlighting the world's second- and third-greatest things, respectively, aka the Bay Brewed, just announced its music lineup for Sunday, Dec. 7. It follows a beer lineup that includes a dozen local breweries, including Anchor, 21st Amendment, Speakeasy, TripleVoodoo, Magnolia, Almanac, and more, presented by the S.F. Brewers Guild.

Now back to the music: The Bay Brewed will be headlined by none other than local breakout star Mikal Cronin, and the full lineup includes Shannon and the Clams and a buncha other good bands at Public Works. Here it is:

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
