Someone — or some people — have been torching Stern Grove's distinctive green picnic tables. The arson has been discovered on three separate occasions in the last week by the Grove staff, reports Hoodline. Some of the tables have had fires lit directly on top of them, while one table was so charred that only ashes remain. Scattered beer cans were left behind, hinting that the culprit(s) was partying, and piles of hay have also been found, no doubt used to stoke the fire. Weirdest of all are the miniature American flags that have also dotted the scene of the crime.

Anne Abrams, a spokesperson for Stern Grove festival, said that the fires have occurred on non-concert days. The Stern Grove festival's 79th season started on Sunday, June 19 with a performance by Janelle Monae and will continue until Sunday, August 21.

The park is located on 33 acres of land that is mostly populated by eucalyptus trees grown from seeds shipped to San Francisco by an Australian bishop in 1871. Apparently the land was originally a sandy desert, but Holland grass was planted to help convert it into a green oasis.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
