Get Your Hillbilly on Throughout the Month of July at Plough and Stars

Throughout the month of July, head to Plough and Stars for its annual Summer Hillbilly Music Series. A bevvy of country, bluegrass, honky tonk, and folk artists and bands will perform, including country singer Mike Hellman, Mariposa string band The Mountain Men Collective, and San Francisco's own Slow Motion Cowboys. 

Check out the lineup below to see who is playing and get your cowboy boots and overalls ready!

Summer Hillbilly Music Series takes place at 9:30 p.m., every other Friday and Saturday in July, at Plough and Stars, 116 Clement Street. $6-$10; 

Saturday, July 2: Red, White, and Bluegrass with The Mountain Men
Friday, July 8: Left Coast Country and Mike Hellman
Saturday, July 16: Leo Rondeau and Slow Motion Cowboys
Friday, July 22: The Robin Davis Duo and Shani Chabansky
Saturday, July 30: Misisipi Mike and Thee MGs and Bum Wagler and The Tune Wranglers

    Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
