It's all about big returns this week! From Eagles of Death Metal's triumphant return to a stage in Paris, through Nicki Minaj's return to mixtapes, to Cee-Lo Green's return to TV, and Jared Leto's return to douche-baggery (though we can't be sure he ever left). Also, and possibly most important of all, Peter Gabriel - a man who once taught apes to play keyboards - is getting back into some serious monkey business...

Here are the quotes of the week:
"I am absolutely certain the monkeys will use the video cameras in Monkey World to communicate with each other. I am also interested in how they would use the internet to communicate."
Peter Gabriel wants to teach primates to use the internet… We’d assumed, based on the state of most comments sections, that they already knew… (Sunday Times UK)

"I mean, fuck her, I don’t give a fuck about her."
Jared Leto is reportedly suing TMZ after they caught him saying this about Taylor Swift. (TMZ)

“The truth is I think @taylorswift13 is amazing + an incredible example of what’s possible. If I hurt her or her fans my sincerest apologies.”
Too late, Jared Leto! Gahd! (Twitter)

“Let's be clear. This was stolen footage. This was an invasion of privacy. And it was both morally and legally wrong."
Jesus, man! Just make like Jordan Catalano and shuffle away with your head down! (Rolling Stone

"They were robbed of their stage three weeks ago. We'd like to offer them ours tonight"
U2 performed alongside Eagles of Death Metal in Paris on Monday night. (Twitter)

“The bad guys never take a day off, and, therefore, we rock ’n rollers cannot either and we never will. We are incredibly grateful to U2 for providing us the opportunity to return to Paris so quickly and to share in the healing power of rock ‘n roll with so many of the beautiful people – nos amis – of this great city.”

Meanwhile, across town… someone in a big furry hood started a little singsong:

“Over 30 plus years, you have been an amazing friend. Now, you seem like a one-man wrecking ball willing to destroy our nation’s foundation of freedom. Stop the bullshit. Stop fueling fires of hate.”
Russell Simmons wrote an open letter to his old pal, Donald Trump. (Global Grind)

“I’ll definitely drop a mixtape. I have to. I have to set an example for female rappers. I’m at the top of that food chain, and it’s important to lead by example."
What’s good, Nicki Minaj? (Billboard)

“It was something that was blown out of proportion.”
Hey, CeeLo Green! When you’re talking about a drug-related charge against you, try to avoid saying “blow” in the middle of it! (Steve Harvey)

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
