This Week: Grimes Kicks Ass, Morrissey Takes Names, and a Sad Farewell to Bobbi Kristina

Posted By on Fri, Jul 31, 2015 at 11:03 AM

This week, the world's getting turned upside down one quote at a time. We've got Billy Corgan trying to have fun, Azealia Banks not caring about her career (in Australia at least), and Skrillex becoming a life coach. As we said, NOTHING makes sense this week ... except for what The Pogues have been up to. And when The Pogues look like the normal ones in the room, you know something's gone wrong.

However, we have to start this week, with Lil B live-Tweeting his own brain imploding, as he wrestles with his own transphobia. This is the longest quote we've ever included in "This Week...", but we couldn't demonstrate the magnitude of his confusion without printing almost all of it. (As always, please note, grammar issues are his, not ours). Enjoy!

“I got love for the gays! I got love for humans I want to attract more good people and women that love me! Not men turned women :( … I’m still growing and this new science is very new to me this surgery stuff from man to women is different I’m I respect humans … It’s all about learning and accepting and being comfortable with self i think I’m insecure … I am transphobic and I need help to learn to accept I’m scared because I’m not comfortable with my self I love u I love born girls …my insecurity comes from deep rooted issues and respecting women’s boundaries, every woman is not to be looked at like a “woman” …being transphobic you may compare to being racist and supporting the confed flag, people shown me today this is bigger then a joke … My heart hurts because I have been cruel to people and I still think mean things about people because I’m not comfortable with self”
SEE?! And that wasn't even everything Lil B threw down, 180 (painful) characters at a time, the other day... At least he apologized and seemed to be learning from the situation. We think he probably just needs a hug... probably from a trans person. (Twitter)

"Going into studios, there’s all these engineers there, and they don’t let you touch the equipment… I don’t fucking give a shit about gender. And the thing that I hate about the music industry is all of a sudden it’s like, 'Grimes is a female musician and Grimes has a girly voice'. It’s like, yeah, but I’m a producer and I spend all day looking at fucking graphs and EQs and doing really technical work.”
Grimes just kicked everyone's ass. (The Fader)

“I literally had somebody say to me the other day, I think it was at Disneyland: ‘Hey, you don’t seem that into this.’ I was like, ‘I’m at fucking Disneyland. I just want to hang out at Disneyland. I’m not here to do a meet and greet, I’m here to be at Disneyland’… I’m like, What the fuck do you want from me?”

"I was approached by an "airport security officer" who stopped me, crouched before me and groped my penis and testicles... Luckily I was accompanied by two members of British Airways Special Services, who were horrified at the sexual attack and suggested that I lodge a complaint."
Morrissey is alleging that he was sexually assaulted by an airport security person at SFO on July 27. (SF Weekly

"Follow your dreams, brother!"
Skrillex turned TMZ in on itself and helped encourage a cameraman to get a better job. Amazing. (YouTube)

Remember when Zayn left One Direction to "relax and have some private time out of the spotlight"? Dude just signed a solo deal with RCA. Dammit!

"Our family has had its share of sorrow these past few years, It is with a heavy heart that I have to once again say 'so long' to a loved one. Bobbi is now sitting in the lap of our Heavenly Father and is now reunited with her beloved mother. She will be missed and I send many thanks for all of the prayers that were being said for her.”
Dionne Warwick on the tragic passing of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown's daughter, Bobbi Kristina. (People)

“People really dont give a fuck about you unless your relevant , and they don't love you till your famous or gone. I don't want these follows… Your follows ain’t gonna fill the hole in my heart , and y’all gon unfollow me once you stop caring…This is real life for me, this is my life, my sister. Not a fucking trending topic."
Bobby Brown Jr, on the horror of increasing your Twitter followers because your sister just died. (Twitter

“You guys are terrible crowds to play for. You’re violent and belligerent and I simply will not put my safety at risk. I would’ve walked off stage had someone thrown something.”
Azealia Banks: not a fan of Australian audiences. (Twitter

And finally, how the fuck this THIS not happen sooner??? (Paste Magazine)

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
