This week has played out a bit like an action-drama movie. On the action side, we've got Justin Bieber doing parkour, Dave Grohl receiving medical treatment onstage, and a boyband dude setting his own face on fire. Bringing the drama are lowly musicians exposing shady underhanded corporate dealings, Neil Young raging against politicians, Lady Gaga doing a fake accent, and Courtney Love under fire (again) in a new documentary. Then of course, there's the new Madonna video, which is nothing if not cinematic...

Strap yourselves in, folks — Quotes of the Week is about to get bumpy:

"A Justin Bieber Action Sequence Will Open 'Zoolander 2'"
Headline of the Week goes to... (Billboard)

"So @APPLEOFFICIAL has a new deal they offered me: they said we want to stream your music free for 3 months..I said what if I say no,and they… said 'we’ll take your music off iTunes.' hard ball? fuck these satanic corporations"
Brian Jonestown Massacre frontman Anton Newcombe just accused Apple Music of some very shady business practices indeed. (Twitter)

"In many ways the deal structure is very progressive, but unfortunately it was created without reference to… independents, and as such unsurprisingly presents problems for us… We are naturally very concerned, especially for artists releasing new albums in the next three months, that all streaming on the new service will be unremunerated until the end of September. Whilst we understand the logic of their proposal and their aim to introduce a subscription-only service, we struggle to see why rights owners and artists should bear this aspect of Apple’s customer acquisition costs."
Beggars Group (4AD, Matador, XL Recordings etc) isn't having an easy time with Apple Music either. (Beggars)

Lady Gaga developed a fake British accent and played a piano made out of garden, at the opening ceremony of the 2015 European Games in Azerbaijan:

“Now, look. I think I just broke my leg. I think I REALLY broke my leg. So, look. You have my promise that right now, that the Foo Fighters, we’re gonna come back and finish this show… I am so sorry. I am so sorry!”
After falling off a stage in Sweden, Dave Grohl DID break his leg — and he DID finish the show. Like a fucking champ. (Consequence of Sound)

"Sorry I couldn't finish the encore, but at least I look like two face"
Michael Clifford from Five Seconds of Summer accidentally set his head on fire on stage in London. (Instagram)

"Ive been HIV Positive since 2011, my entire career. fuck stigma and hiding in the dark, this is my real life. I'm healthy I've toured the world 3 times but ive been living in the dark, its time to actually be as punk as i say I am"
Thanks for being punk, Mykki Blanco. (Facebook)

"The film falsely presents a widely and repeatedly debunked conspiracy theory that accuses Ms Cobain of orchestrating the death of her husband Kurt Cobain. A false accusation of criminal behavior is defamatory per se under California Civil Code Section 45a, which entitles Ms Cobain to both actual and presumed damages."
Courtney Love has filed a cease and desist order against the makers of Soaked in Bleach: a new movie that suggests she was complicit in the death of Kurt Cobain. You can still see the trailer though:

"I do not trust self serving misinformation coming from corporations and their media trolls. I do not trust politicians who are taking millions from those corporations either. I trust people. So I make my music for people, not for candidates. Keep on Rockin in the Free World."
Donald Trump launched his Presidential Campaign using Neil Young's "Keep on Rockin' in the Free World" as the soundtrack. Unsurprisingly, Neil Young was not pleased by this... (Facebook)

And finally, if you thought Taylor Swift had a lot of cameos in the "Bad Blood" video, check out "Bitch, I'm Madonna" (we spotted Miley Cyrus, Beyonce, Katy Perry, Kanye West, Chris Rock, Rita Ora, Diplo, Alexander Wang and — obviously — Nicki Minaj):

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
