Oakland's
Bells Atlas releases its new EP
Hyperlust on June 2, but fans eager to get a sneak peak can chase down a free digital download of one song on
the band's new website. But when I say "chase down" I literally mean chase down.
Once you enter the site you'll see four symbols, each representing a different song, floating on your screen. The little guys do their best to evade your mouse, but after a while you'll be able to pin one down in a corner. That's your song. You
earned it.
Enter in your email address and you'll receive the download (which may or may not correlate with the track you hunted down). It was kind of rewarding to have to work towards hearing the delightfully rhythmic indie-afro-soul the Oakland quartet has become known for. Receiving the email with my downloadable link reminded me of that new-CD smell you only get after peeling off all the shrink wrap on your $20 Tower Records CD. It made the single feel special in a world filled with instant gratification.
So what are you waiting for?
Go grab a single.
Oh, and for you lazy fools, here's the streamable version.
