File under: Firsts we were kinda surprised to hear were firsts, but so be it? On Saturday, Jan. 31, The Fillmore will host the first all-female lineup in the venue's storied existence.

Join headliners the Rainbow Girls, a stomp-folk five-piece based in Sebastopol, the Hot Toddies, a surfy indie-pop trio out of Oakland, San Francisco's own former teen sensations The She's — who we hear will be playing a new song called "Death Dreams" — and S.F. singer-songwriter Kendra McKinley, who will be opening the night with her blend of jazz, blues, and folk.

We won't even try to count how many all-male lineups fill venues every night in this town. Suffice it to say, this sounds like a good night to gather your lady friends (and the adult beverages of your lady friends' choice) and have a rollickin' night out. Bonus points for group selfies.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
