Because nothing gets you through Hump Day like the announcement of a new Geographer album: Here is an announcement about a new Geographer album!

"I'm Ready," which the the band released today as the first single off Ghost Modern, set for release March 24 on Roll Call, starts things off with a shimmery, atmospheric bang.

“I took a great deal of time crafting the songs for this album before arranging them,” Mike Deni told Paste, which premiered the song today. “Before blowing them out with swelling sonic textures that might override or overshadow the need to make the song — at its core — the most important thing.”

Give it a listen below. We lucky locals will no doubt get to hear a few more new songs when the band makes its debut at the Fox Theater in Oakland on Feb. 27 as part of Noise Pop

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
