Noise Pop
, the festival/promotions team that last made our day back in December by announcing it would be taking over booking at the Swedish American Hall come February, when it reopens the venue in time to serve as fest headquarters, has gone and announced more additions to its already substantial lineup for this year's festival (which will take over the city from Feb. 20 through March 1).

The additions include locals Blackbird Blackbird, Doe Eye, The Tropics, The She's, The Younger Lovers, Les Sins (Chaz Bundick of Toro y Moi's side project), Waterstrider, and DJs Aaron Axelson and Omar (of LIVE 105 and Popscene fame).

Other notables include the beachtastic Best Coast (playing what we're assuming will be a packed-to-the-gills Bottom of the Hill Feb. 24, DJs from our favorite unpronounceable series of punctuation, !!!, performing at the Academy of Science Feb. 19, and soulful folkster Langhorne Slim at the renovated Swedish American Hall Feb. 26.

Here's the full lineup as of today. Head over to the festival website for the schedule, to see new additions to the film lineup as well, and to score a badge.

  • clipping at Brava Theater Sept. 11
Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
