If you're the kind of person who really loved Cats and Mamma Mia!, but thought both musicals would have benefited from the inclusion of fetish film actresses and musical numbers with titles like "Bearly  Legal" and "Fecal Alcohol Syndrome," well do we have news for you.

Fat Mike, better known as the frontman of NOFX and a guy you really shouldn't sneak up behind, especially if his back's hurting, announced today that he's penned a "punk-rock musical concept album" called Home Street Home, out Feb. 10 (on Fat Wreck Chords, of course) in advance of a stage production TBA. "Ever since I saw Rocky Horror when I was 8, I've been intrigued by musicals," writes Fat Mike in the press release, which really makes a surprising amount of sense.

With music written by Fat Mike and his ladyfriend, the actress-writer Soma Snakeoil, alongside the Tony Award-winning Avenue Q composer and lyricist Jeff Marx, the story follows Sue, "a 16-year-old runaway who plunges headfirst into the deviant subculture and alternative lifestyle of the streets." It's based on "true stories of the authors' experiences."

And all in time for Valentine's Day!

Even if your honey isn't exactly into deviant street subculture, the album credits are a veritable who's-who of West Coast punk, with appearances by No Use For A Name's Tony Sly (RIP), Dance Hall Crashers' Karina Denike, Alkaline Trio's Matt Skiba, and members of the Descendents, Lagwagon, Old Man Markley, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, and more. And on the heels of Green Day's ascent into widespread mainstream respectability/final nail in the sellout coffin following the stage production of American Idiot, we have to wonder: Is this now some required part of the aging process for '90s Bay Area punk bands? Et tu, Rancid? Anyway, full track list below:

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
