RIP Isaiah "Ikey" Owens, Keyboardist for Mars Volta, Jack White, and Many More

Sad news broke on Tuesday that much-loved keyboardist and producer Isaiah "Ikey" Owens had passed away of a suspected heart attack while on tour with Jack White in Mexico. He was 38 years old. While Ikey Owens isn't a name that everyone will immediately recognize, there is no doubt that you'll have come into contact with his boundary-pushing work if you're a longtime alt-music fan.

In honor of Owens' sizable contribution to music, then, we'd like to present some of his finest moments. RIP Ikey. You will be missed.

    Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
