Did you know that Journey released songs other than "Don't Stop Believin'"? We were amazed to learn this fact today with the release of a Journey cover by the S.F. noise peddlers A Million Billion Dying Suns. Their new song is called "Daydream," and though Journey released a similar song with the same title in 1979, on an album called
Evolution, we hesitate to imply too much similarity between the two. For one, A Million Billion Dying Suns' version thankfully includes absolutely zero Steve Perry, which is the only correct amount of Steve Perry. For another, we can listen to the A Million Billion Dying Suns version of "Daydream" without feeling like we're about to get whisked away to Mars or Alpha Centauri or wherever, whereas
the original makes us a little space-sick. The song is available on orange vinyl as part of
Turntable Kitchen's Pairings Box, or you can listen/download it below. Either way, thanks to A Million Billion Dying Suns for teaching us that Journey made more than one song. Now we know there are more to avoid.
