The Purple One is coming to Oakland.
  • The Purple One is coming to Oakland.
Update, 3/13: There are of course tickets available on StubHub -- but be prepared to pay $265-$300 for a spot on the floor. Craigslist has 'em, too. Update, 11:17 p.m.: Some say tickets for Saturday's surprise show are still available in the LiveNation app, though this is unconfirmed. Meanwhile, Another Planet is hinting about a possible second show. Original post: Only a year after his two-night stand at DNA Lounge, Prince is coming back to the Bay Area. The Purple One is playing a surprise show at the Fox Oakland this Saturday, March 15. R U into it? Well ... hope you grabbed tickets already, because Ticketmaster says they're gone.

Another Planet Entertainment announced this show late Wednesday evening, only a few minutes before tickets went onsale. As of right now, 40 minutes after the announcement, it looks like they're all sold out. Ticketmaster doesn't have any, and we're having trouble loading the Fox Oakland website.

But again: Prince. Fox Oakland. This Saturday. This is just what we'd expect to happen. We'll update if the situation changes.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
