You know what's happening Sunday in Seattle. We don't have to tell you. But we do want to help you get pumped up. To that end, we're presenting the top five Niners anthems to blast all this weekend, before -- and hopefully after -- Sunday's NFC Championship. As if tailored to match San Francisco's schizoid weather patterns, this week's selections -- Sharon Jones, St. Vincent, Damien Jurado Nick Waterhouse and Chuck English - oscillate between wintry, kinetic and utterly peculiar. We tried to cover all our bases here: It's a playlist fit for either a sunburned day at Dolores Park or a freeze-your-ass-off evening at Ocean Beach. Or, you know, both.
Just as the youngsters -- with all the twerking and the swag and the Instagram filters -- are apparently deserting Facebook in droves, American Idol no longer holds the appeal that it did five years ago. In fact, Wednesday's premiere episode for Season 13 arrived with the lowest viewing figures for an Idol premiere ever. (Still, with 15 million turning in, we doubt Fox is all that worried.) It's fair to say that part of the problem with this season is that, despite the return of J-Lo on the judges' panel, there aren't that many teenagers who really give a flip about the other two judges, Keith Urban, and now, Harry Connick Jr.
