Iamsu! Celebrates "Hipster Girls" (Whatever Those Are) In New Video

Posted By on Mon, Oct 14, 2013 at 3:20 PM

Don't fret over likes or follow counts, trend-hopping lady-ninjas of the Instagram, because we know one guy who will always love ya. Here's Iamsu with an easygoing thumbs-up to every "hipster" stereotype you've ever heard of, at least when said stereotype is adhered to an attractive young female. (Or a Pink Dolphin store opening.) So is the song conceptually flimsy? Well, of course. But the flow is crisp, and the Trackademics-produced beat is basically aural pink dolphins. This one's off 'Su's KILT 2 mixtape; you can see him, Sage the Gemini, Kool John, Jay Ant, and DJ Amen chop it up, presumably not just with hipster girls, at the Regency Ballroom on Halloween.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
