Icona Pop Cancels Friday's Show at the Fillmore

Posted By on Wed, Aug 28, 2013 at 6:10 PM

Sometimes you just have to care: Icona Pop, the Swedish dance duo whose song "I Love It" you totally know even if you don't know you know it, has canceled this Friday's show at the Fillmore, along with dates in L.A., Seattle, and Vancouver. The shows will be rescheduled, likely for later this year. Member Aino Jawo is under doctor's orders not to perform, according to the band's representatives.

"We cannot tell you how sad we are and how much these shows meant to us," said Caroline Hjelt in a release. "Our fans are so important to us and we live to perform on stage for you each night. We promise we'll be back and will see you soon! In the meantime, please send lots of love and good energy Aino's way!"

Those who have tickets to Friday's show should await announcement of the rescheduled date.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
