Get Deaf With Terry Malts' Buzz-Fuzz Blast "Walking Without You"

Our ears are still ringing from Outside Lands -- was it just us, or were Foals suuuper-loud? -- but damn if the new single from S.F. pop-punk menaces Terry Malts isn't a great reason to brave the volume again. It's like these guys have a firehose of hooks and fuzz always at the ready, and just turn it on in neat little two-minute blasts. The contrast between the deadpan vocals and frenzied fountain of buzz -- plainly on display here -- is one of the things we like best about Terry Malts. "Walking Without You" is the second sample from the upcoming Nobody Realizes This Is Nowhere LP, which is out Sept. 10 on the East Bay indie-pop powerhouse Slumberland Records. Play, play, away, and don't forget to turn it up LOUD.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
