Good news for the devoted: Pearl Jam, overseers of one of the most persistent and loyal cult followings in alternative rock -- and one of the best surviving bands from the grunge movement's '90s heyday -- is coming to Oakland for a big concert this fall.
The notoriously energetic five piece will play Oracle Arena on Nov. 26, two days before the Thanksgiving holiday. Having seen the band live, we can testify that its stellar reputation is deserved -- even if you aren't a member of the Pearl Jam tribe. Tickets for the Nov. 26 show go onsale at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, at Ticketmaster.com. They will run $82, including fees, according to the site. Thankfully, there's still plenty of time to scuff up your Doc Martens and grow out your hair.
