Lou Reed, well-known jerkface and former headmaster of the Velvet Underground, has canceled his April 14 show at the Warfield in San Francisco as well as his two Coachella appearances, according to The Desert Sun.

A spokesperson for Coachella/Warfield promoter Goldenvoice said Reed was canceling the shows "due to unavoidable complications," the paper reported.

Reed was set to perform on Friday, April 12 and 19, at Coachella, as well as April 14 in S.F., April 16 in Monterey, and April 17 in Los Angeles.

There is currently no word on whether he's ditching Northern California to go hang out with Morrissey. Or exactly what "unavoidable complications" is supposed to mean.

The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
