Well everybody, it's been a lot of fun doing this column and partying with you for the past couple of years. As you are all aware, we're currently on an unstoppable collision course with the apocalypse, due to hit sometime around Friday, with the details as yet undetermined. Considering the approaching end, we've picked out a few parties to help you get your rocks off one last time. Read on -- your weekend awaits.

5. Future|Perfect presents Ital @ Public Works

Thursday, Dec. 20, 10 p.m. - 3 a.m.

Thursday-night institution Future|Perfect returns this month with one of its best bookings yet. Ital is the dance-music alias of Daniel Martin-McCormick, an artist known locally for his work as one-half of experimental rock group Mi Ami. Signed to 100% Silk and Planet Mu, he specializes in an outsider approach to dance music that reconfigures the sounds and textures of the past into something entirely contemporary. For an idea of what that means, listen to the Italo-ish "Ital's Theme," the Candi Staton-sampling "Only For Tonight," and his avant-garde podcast for Little White Earbuds.

4. Disco or Die - End of the World '70s Disco Party @ Mighty

Friday, Dec. 21, 9 p.m. - 4 a.m.

As noted in the intro, the end is rapidly approaching. We're not sure if it'll be a Christian-themed apocalypse, but just in case it is, we recommend you go out listening to the most hedonistic music ever conceived of in the history of sound. Disco or Die is an event conceived to do just that, with a seven-hour journey set to a soundtrack of '70s disco. The DJs assembled are all veterans of the San Francisco dance music scene -- there'll be appearances by David Harness, Jeno, Galen, and other notables. And like Mighty's '90s house "Throwback" party a couple weeks ago, this one's free all night with an open bar from 9 p.m. - 10 p.m. Get in the spirit by listening to this classic mixtape recorded live from the board at SF's legendary Trocadero Transfer disco club in 1980.

3. Oldies Night @ Knockout

Friday, Dec. 21, 10 p.m. - 2 a.m.

It's too bad that Oldies Night won't be hosting a New Years Eve party like last year. Given the circumstances, it's understandable, and this year-end party is effectively the next best thing. Resident DJs Primo and Daniel will be slinging their usual assortment of '60s R&B and soul for as long as the fire and brimstone rains down from above. Read our interview with DJ Primo and this review of last year's NYE party. Get ready for the party by listening to Johnny Be Smart's "Sarah Vaughan," Bernadette Carroll's "Party Girl," and Ike & Tina Turner's "Fool in Love."

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
