Gotta love Lauryn Hill's penchant for last-minute announcements. The beloved and mercurial R&B singer will be in town next week for a show Nov. 19 at the Fox Oakland with Nas, but that won't be her only local appearance: Hill just announced show at the 500-capacity Independent in S.F. this weekend.

The Independent show goes down this Sunday, Nov. 18, at 9 p.m. -- the night before Hill's Fox show with Nas. Of course, for an intimate performance like this, tickets aren't cheap: They start at $99.50 and run up to $199.50 for VIP treatment. Will it be worth it? Well, we saw Hill perform a late-night show at the similarly sized New Parish in Oakland last year, and it was pretty excellent.

Tickets to Hill at the Independent go onsale today at noon, if you want 'em. Of course, if you'd rather catch her with Nas, that show is starts at "only" $59.50, and tickets are still available.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
